New Utility Converts Crystal Ball Models to @RISK
CRYSTAL BALL USERS CAN WORK IN @RISK WITHOUT REBUILDING MODELS
29 July 2002, Newfield, NY - In a move that allows @RISK, the leading Excel add-in for risk analysis, to be easily accessible to an even wider audience, Palisade Corporation has announced the release of CB Converter, a free utility that translates Crystal Ball models into @RISK format. Now users of Crystal Ball, another Excel risk analysis add-in, will be able to benefit from @RISK’s superior speed, advanced features, and ease-of-use—without rebuilding their models. Crystal Ball users will also benefit from @RISK’s up-to-date Windows XP/2000 interface technology.
According to Palisade President Sam McLafferty, “Just as market leader Microsoft Excel supports files from competing spreadsheets, it became apparent that @RISK, as the market leader in risk analysis software, should also support competing file formats. The CB Converter fills that need, bringing @RISK closer to a new group of risk analysts while sparing them the expense of paying for new software and rebuilding their models.”
The CB Converter is available free of charge on the Palisade web site and allows the users to run simulations in both @RISK and Crystal Ball to compare the results. This comparison testing assures the accuracy of the conversions.
An upgrade offer is available to Crystal Ball users to switch to @RISK 4.5 Professional. The upgrade package includes a free license of @RISK 4.5 Professional, 2 years of Palisade’s Gold Maintenance, the CB Converter, and 20% off Palisade’s on-site training.
