Opens Office in Rio de Janeiro,
Announces New Sales Manager for Brasil
26 March 2010, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil - Palisade Corporation, the market- leading developer of risk and decision analysis software, is pleased to announce the opening of Palisade Brasil Ltda, a new office in Rio de Janeiro dedicated to serving the Brasilian market. In addition, Palisade welcomes Mr. Michael Fine to the office as its new local Brasilian Sales Director.
Headquartered in Ithaca, New York, USA, Palisade was founded in 1984 is best known for its @RISK and DecisionTools Suite line of decision support software that add-in to Microsoft Excel. @RISK utilizes a technique known as Monte Carlo simulation to account for uncertainty in spreadsheet models and quantify the probability of different outcomes occurring. The DecisionTools Suite combines @RISK with other analytics such as decision trees and optimization to provide the most integrated such toolkit available today. The company also maintains offices in London, England and Sydney, Australia.
The opening of the new office and appointment of Mr. Fine come on the heels of the release of Palisade’s full @RISK and DecisionTools Suite line of software in Portuguese. These moves solidify the company’s commitment to Brasil and represent the latest extension of the company’s global reach. Palisade software is also available in Spanish, German, French, and Japanese, as well as English.
The new office provides local sales, order fulfillment, support, and training services in Portuguese to customers throughout Brasil. Invoicing and payment is done in Brasilian reals, and an entire Brasilian Palisade web site (www.palisade-br.com) has been established complete with product information, training schedules, case studies, and tutorials – all in Portuguese. “We are trying to get closer to our growing client base in Brasil,” noted Palisade president Sam McLafferty. “By removing barriers such as language, currencies, and physical distance, we intend to meet customer demand for the risk and decision analytics we specialize in.”
Mr. Fine, a Brasilian resident for over 5 years, comes to Palisade from leading international conference provider IQPC. With an MBA from the Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina and extensive experience serving a variety of industry sectors, Mr. Fine advocates a consultative approach to developing value-based, strategic relationships with his customers. “My philosophy is to build a strong relationship with every client. Palisade’s solutions are very powerful, and I see myself matching the needs of each customer with the most appropriate solution for their particular situation.
Palisade has experienced increasing demand for @RISK and other products in Brasil in recent years. “Oil and gas companies in Brasil have traditionally been important users of our software,” says Palisade Latin American Sales Director Denise Castellot. “But now we are seeing strong demand in banking, agriculture, and other sectors, particularly in response to the global economic crisis of the past two years. It’s important that we be there, in the local market, to meet our clients’ needs.”
