New Web Seminars Target Specialized User Needs
Ithaca, NY - September 7, 2005. Palisade Corporation, the leader in add-in software tools for risk and decision analysis, has introduced two new web seminars to address the needs of users whose work requires specialized application of @RISK. Using VBA Macros with @RISK and Using the @RISK Developer’s Kit will follow up on the success of Palisade’s recently introduced live web seminars, which have been enthusiastically received by participants.
Using VBA Macros with @RISK will introduce users of @RISK for Excel to simulation efficiencies that can be achieved by writing macros in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), a programming language built into Excel. The first seminar day will give web students an introduction to the Visual Basic for Applications programming language and development environment, and students will begin learning how to write basic macros to update model components and @RISK settings. On the second day, they will learn how to automate @RISK sessions from an external application, access simulation results programmatically, write user-defined functions and model calculation macros.
Using the @RISK Developer’s Kit is designed for @RISK users who need to work outside the Excel environment. The seminar will guide users through the process of integrating the @RISK Developers Kit with other Windows applications. In the process, attendees will get an overview of the DLL and ActiveX programming interfaces.
