CEO and Board Member
For over 20 years, Randy Heffernan has worked in nearly every department at Palisade, including sales, marketing, operations, and development. Working closely with sales and product teams, he has led product launches, entered new markets, and established Palisade offices in multiple new countries. During that time, the company has quadrupled in size and expanded its reach to become the dominant force in modern analytical decision-making and thought leadership.
Randy’s current focus is to take Palisade to the next level in its 30+ year history. Building on a market-leading product and a world-class sales force, he and his team are laying the foundation for the next generation of accessible, powerful spreadsheet-based analytics, with the goal of reaching segments who haven’t yet seen power these tools can bring. Through technological innovation, enhanced outreach initiatives, and operational improvements, Randy is dedicated to expanding Palisade’s footprint and improving the quality of decision-making throughout the business world.
Prior to Palisade, Randy helped lead the expansion of Enterprise Rent-a-Car in central New York. He also worked in the publishing industry assisting the sales team at Cornell University Press.
Randy earned a BS in Agricultural Economics and Business from Cornell University as well as an MBA from the Johnson School of Business at Cornell University and the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University. He enjoys mountains, English history, and Star Trek.
Chief Technology Officer
Mark has more than 30 years of experience in software engineering and brings a passion for delivering only the highest quality user experiences. His background blends deep, hands-on coding expertise with a talent for collaboration and leadership that crosses departmental lines.
Mark’s career began in the mid-80’s creating ERP applications for IBM systems, and joined Global Software in 1993 as an application developer. During this time, he was heavily involved in the development and architecture of Global Software’s IBM AS/400 ERP products, and was heavily involved in the development of the company’s flagship product Spreadsheet Server – the market-leading ERP reporting solution.
In 2000, Mark joined MediClick (a Global Software spinoff) as the Lead Architect, in the development of an early cloud-based ERP and materials management system for the healthcare industry. Mark later became Vice President of New Product Development and was instrumental in the company’s integration of newly acquired technologies.
In 2016 Mark re-joined Global Software as Chief Technology Officer, where his vision and dedication led Global Software to record growth before it was acquired by insightsoftware.
Vice President of Global Sales
With over 20 years of experience, Scott is a veteran sales executive with a demonstrated history of delivering predictable, scalable revenue on a global scale. He is skilled at creating metrics-driven sales teams in the software industry with a focus on analytical solutions.
Scott’s areas of expertise include the negotiation of complex, enterprise win-win deals as part of his client relationship strategy. He has a track record of successful go-to-market implementations, of building partner programs, and of achieving consistent high-level growth.
Teams Scott has managed have been located all over the world and often span multiple functions or projects. His work frequently overlaps with marketing and finance, with a focus on revenue forecasting and cost management.
Prior to Palisade, Scott was Vice President of Sales at MasterControl, Inc., a leading provider of quality management SaaS solutions for the life sciences industry. At MasterControl, Scott oversaw fourfold increases in revenue, and successfully transitioned the company from a perpetual to a SaaS revenue model. Scott’s interests include travel, road cycling, and cooking.
Vice President of Finance
Scott Burch joined our team in April 2019 and develops and executes innovative new financial strategies that directly impact the bottom line.
Scott’s remit includes financial reporting, process and systems improvements, analytics and cash management, all of which further enable the company to achieve its strategic goals of providing the best possible decision-making solutions to Fortune 500 professionals worldwide. Scott also works closely with Palisade’s equity partner Thompson Street Capital Partners to leverage their experience and expertise.
Prior to Palisade, Scott was Corporate Accounting Manager for PAR Technology, Controller at XPO Logistics, and Vice President at Tompkins Financial Corporation. He also led the Oneida Nation accounting function, and started his career in roles at BorgWarner and Ernst & Young. Scott is a CPA and holds a BS in Accounting from Siena College. Scott spends his downtime keeping his dog from eating the paneling off the walls of his house.
Director of Marketing
Matt is a results-producing marketing and strategic leadership executive with a proven record of accomplishment in planning and leading comprehensive marketing and sales strategies in support of business objectives. Matt’s expertise in directing the creation and execution of sales, marketing and media strategies lies at the heart of his role leading the marketing function at Palisade.
Throughout his career, Matt has demonstrated success driving growth in targeted markets through implementation of multi-functional strategies. He is an innovative leader responsible for building and guiding top-performing marketing and sales teams.
Matt’s skillset runs the gamut, including strategic marketing and sales planning, giving him a unique perspective on how the functions must work seamlessly together. He also has experience in multichannel marketing, traditional and digital media, social media, brand management, and public relationships. On the product side, Matt has worked in product management and new product development.
Prior to Palisade, Matt was Chief Marketing Officer at Stromasys, a global leader in emulation software solutions. There, he nearly doubled performance in under two years by unifying marketing, sales, and business development efforts. Before Stromasys, Matt was Vice President of Marketing and Interactive Sales at TeleHealth Services, a leading provider of interactive patient experience solutions, where he directed the overall marketing and SaaS support strategy.
Director of Custom Solutions
Gustavo Vinueza has worked in the consulting, training, and custom development area of Palisade for nine years, and is currently responsible for scoping and producing customized software solutions for Fortune 500 companies around the world.
During his tenure, Gustavo has leveraged his technical and financial background to understand the varied and unique needs of customers in many different industries to better formulate solutions tailored for each client. Having started by providing training classes and developing spreadsheet models for clients, Gustavo has since grown to lead a team of consultants and programmers whose mission is to create robust, bespoke software solutions based on Palisade’s @RISK and DecisionTools technologies. To date, the Custom Solutions team has helped Fortune 500 clients in manufacturing, engineering, defense, utilities, banking, energy, and many other sectors.
Prior to Palisade, Gustavo was a technology project manager at CorpBanca Inversiones, and a technology infrastructure manager at the Principal Financial Group, both in Santiago, Chile. In addition, Gustavo has a range of experience in other technology and programming roles in the financial sector. Gustavo holds BS in Systems Engineering from the Universidad de Cuenca in Ecuador, an MBA from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella in Buenos Aires, and a masters in finance from Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago. Gustavo is an active street runner and his goal is to, one day, run a marathon.
