Seminar Program

This seminar introduces the basic concepts of probabilistic risk analysis as it applies to a wide range of industry sectors.  Probabilities and simulation are powerful techniques used for many applications by companies all over the world: cash flow analysis, production forecasting, demand forecasting, pricing, plant sizing, and much more.  We will demonstrate, using simple example models with @RISK software, how Monte Carlo simulation and other techniques can be used to tackle these common, yet difficult, problems.

We will also introduce the techniques of optimization and sensitivity analysis using RISKOptimizer and TopRank software, respectively. Optimization is an effective way to handle resource allocation problems such as scheduling and project portfolios. Sensitivity analysis is important to quickly determine what the most critical factors are in an analysis so that you can prioritize your efforts. @RISK, TopRank, and RISKOptimizer are available in the DecisionTools Suite software package from Palisade.

Questions and answers are encouraged, and we will cover as much of the program as time allows.
