Generally, you will want BestFit to estimate the parameters of your distributions. However, in some cases, you may want to specify exactly what distributions to use. For example you may want to have BestFit compare two competing hypotheses and tell you which one is a better description of your data.
Predefined distributions can be set in the Specify Distributions to Fit dialog.
