DecisionTools Makes the Dean's List at University of Texas

AUSTIN, TX - 13 May 2002 - When the University of Texas graduate business school decided to standardize its teaching software for quantitative decision-making, it chose Palisade’s DecisionTools Suite. In fact, the Red McCombs School of Business at the Austin campus committed to a three-year institutional contract for the software.

Larry Leibrock, Associate Dean for Technology, says the contract was hardly the result of a snap decision. “We took a good, hard look at all the commercial software available. It’s clear that DecisionTools is the most functional, comprehensive set of tools on the market. And for us, the deciding factor was the superior technology that allows us to seamlessly integrate a decision tree with Monte Carlo simulation.”

Randy Heffernan , Vice President of Palisade, pointed out that the contract creates a partnership based on respective strengths. “Palisade has always had a big presence in graduate business programs--and UT enjoys a very strong reputation among business schools.” Noting that the university has even dedicated a special unit—the Center for Business Decision Analysis—to the issues DecisionTools analyzes, he said “UT is a leader in decision making education, and Palisade is the industry leader in decision making technology. The DecisionTools Suite was a natural fit for UT, and we look forward to providing them with leading-edge decision making technology for years to come .”
