Palisade Releases Popular Winston Book in Spanish

TEACHING OF U.S. AUTHORITY REACHES OUT TO LATIN AMERICA

15 June 2006, Ithaca, NY - Palisade Corporation has released a Spanish translation of Wayne Winston’s very successful Financial Models Using Simulation and Optimization. Winston, a professor of decision and information sciences at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business, is a nationally recognized authority on quantitative analysis methods and the author of many widely used textbooks.

The book has long been a standout in Palisade’s catalog and has helped thousands of Palisade customers toward a deeper understanding of the ideas behind modeling techniques and a comprehensive knowledge of the capabilities of Palisade’s software tools.

The release of Modelos Financieros con Simulación y Optimización reflects Palisade’s growing presence in Latin America. Although it had been active in the region for some time, the company officially launched its Latin American operations early this spring with a Spanish-language website and a Spanish translation of its flagship product, @RISK. Denise Castellot, who heads up Latin American sales for Palisade, says the brisk sales of @RISK in Spanish spurred the translation of the Winston book. “We have a very active training program for Latin American, but it’s such a vast region that a book like Dr. Winston’s will be valuable as an additional resource for user support.”
